Baladi is a new player in the restaurant / bakery industry opening soon in the center of The Hague, where the combination of working people, local residents and tourists are an ideal target. The main product are Manouches (traditional Lebanese pizzas) and Baladi is the first to offer this product in the Netherlands.
It is the purpose of Baladi as a pioneer to exploit the opportunity and establish itself as the manouche provider in the area. We believe that a locally owned restaurant is the best way to serve customers a fresh, unique menu as opposed to the large national chains. This plan allows an exciting, profitable start-up show with a solid expected growth.
Baladi creates a friendly and pleasant atmosphere for all clients in an oriental yet modern, well assembled and productive environment where people can sit quietly or even work. We are focused on the taste of a good Lebanese pizza with quality ingredients and a sleek and modern look. We try to give the best possible value to our customers with delicious Lebanese Manouches.
We think our products will appeal to a diverse audience. Manouches are very popular in the Arab world and with this we will have great appeal to those with a background in this region. We also expect our products to be popular in the immediate region for working people and tourists alike, especially since we offer healthier alternatives than the popular kebab/turkish pizza business. Because we make everything ourselves, we can properly inform customers in case of any allergies and intolerances, such as lactose and gluten.
Currently we are looking for a suitable property. We focus on the center of The Hague because we see an ideal blend of our audience. By now we have seen some suitable premises, which are well located and are in good condition.
Our ingredients will all be prepared in the store. Everything, including the cheese, will be made with the help of the best fresh ingredients. Because we work with many homemade products, our margins are relatively high and therefor our annual profits will also be high. Our estimated sales are € 123,000 in the first start-up year, € 160,000 in the second year and € 172,000 in the third year. All in all we will make a profit starting the fifth month.
I myself have over 10 years experience in the Lebanese dairy production, as well as in retail dairy and Manouches. I managed and made products for Lebanese bakeries and supermarkets in and around Beirut (Lebanon). In 10 years I have set up a large clientele in spite of the relatively high price compared with the street vendors. At the same time, I was also responsible for managing the wholesale and delivery of the products. I also established a successful webshop in order to reach customers from all over Lebanon.

It is increasingly difficult for startups to get a bank loan. Therefore we are looking for another way to get our funding and we arrived at Kapitaal Op Maat. The bank did not even looked at my plan I then found it easier to directly contact potential investors through crowdfunding, I believe that I can convince you that I have a strong plan. The borrowed money will be used to make investments and the establishment of the new building. These would include kitchen tools, but also specific machines that I need to make the products themselves.
It's great that a small company like ours can communicate with potential customers and investors and we can reward them for investing in our company. Crowdfunding for us is a simple and effective tool for investors to get acquainted with our company.
